Youth and Children
Children
Nursery
Our 3 & 4 year olds attend Sunday School in the nursery room upstairs. This year they are studying “Jesus Loves Me”; their lesson includes a Bible story, craft project, songs and a snack that goes along with the story
Our professionally staffed nursery is also open during adult education programs and worship. Infants and toddlers from birth through age 5 are welcome.
God’s House
Children aged pre-K through 7th grade visit “God’s House” every Sunday morning, as they explore Bible stories and Christ-centered lessons throughout various workshops. Workshops include:
- art
- audiovisual
- computer
- drama/storytelling
- games & puzzles
- music & worship
- and a bonus workshop (cooking, science, missions, etc.)
Vacation Bible School
Our church participates in the annual community-wide Vacation Bible School. For five nights, beginning Sunday night, kids gather for music, games, Bible study, and crafts. There is also a VBS for the preschoolers that meets in the mornings. Check our church calendar for the 2009 dates.
Explorer Club
During the summer months, our kids gather in our Computer Lab for Explorer Club. Explorer Club meets during our Worship time on Sundays. The kids start upstairs in the sanctuary and then go down to the computer lab after the Children's Message.
Christmas Program
On Sunday, December 14, 2008, our children will present their annual Christmas pageant, with supper provided by the Fellowship Committee. Join us, as we tell the story of Christ’s birth. Check our church calendar later this fall for rehearsal times.
Youth
Sunday Morning Studies
Youth, grades 8 - 12, participate in a Sunday morning Bible study called “Chew On This” at 9:00 a.m.
CTW High School Fellowship
High-school aged youth gather weekly on Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship and spiritual growth. In early spring, the youth will present their annual fundraising dinner theatre, to support their summer mission work. Other events include a ski trip, parties, and service projects.
Summer Missions
A highlight of the year for our high school students is the summer mission trip. In recent years, youth and their adult mentors have travelled to Dallas, TX, Albuquerque, NM, and the Osage Reservation in Oklahoma. In 2007, a group traveled to the Dominican Republic for a 10 day experience with Ministries in Action.
AWESOME Middle School Fellowship
AWESOME is the right name to describe our Middle School Fellowship. We meet every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. There’s fun and learning for grades 6-8. Extra activities include an upcoming ski trip, summer mission trip, lock-ins, and field trips in and around town.
Confirmation
Every other year, youth in grades 7 and 8 grow in faith and learn the basics of Christianity in our 9-month confirmation program. We meet Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
The A-Men’s
Our youth praise band, with middle and high school aged youth, play several times throughout the year, in worship and in the community. They are under the direction of Sally Kappel.
